Ponta Delgada, the capital of the Portuguese Autonomous Region of Azores, is served by a modern airport (PLD) a few minutes away from the town center. The airport is served by direct flights from Lisbon and Porto and from the major European capitals and North America in regular flights and a number of charter flights specially in summer (charter and regular flights during July and August from the central and north EU, USA and Canada tend the get full quite early... ).

The conference venue
(Azores University main campus) is close to the center of Ponta Delgada and at
walking distance from main hotels. There is also a frequent bus service in
the town and around the island. You may also rent a car (book it as earlier as possible!).
From (to) Ponta-Delgada in S. Miguel island there are daily flights to the other islands of the archipelago (all deserving a visit!...)
