Cairo is the capital and largest city of Egypt and the Cairo Governorate, being home to more than 10 million people. It is also part of the largest urban agglomeration in Africa, the Arab world, and the Middle East. The Greater Cairo metropolitan area is one of the largest in the world by population with over 22 million people. It has an extensive road network, rail system, subway system and maritime services.
Cairo has long been the hub of education and educational services for Egypt and the region. Egypt has a thriving cultural tourism industry, built on the country's complex history, multicultural population and importance as a regional center.

Cairo has a lot of museums; of Science, Geology, Arts, Transportation, Agriculture, and Civilization. Visitors usually focus on two museums; The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, known commonly as the Egyptian Museum, which has the most extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities in the world. It has 136,000 items on display, located in Al-Tahrir square.
And the Grand Egyptian Museum which has been officially opened for public on Nov.1st 2025.

The Grand Egyptian Museum is located on the Giza Plateau (and next door to the Pyramids) is considered one of the largest archaeological, most modern, and most renowned museums in the entire world.
It hosts more than 100,000 artifacts. For the first time ever, King Tut’s entire treasure collection display alongside artifacts from pre-historic times through Egypt’s many thousands of years of pharaonic civilization through the [comparatively] more modern ancient Greek and Roman periods of Egyptian history.
There will be a visit to The Grand Egyptian Museum for the HSCI2025 participants in the social program to enjoy viewing the new museum and the Pyramids as well.
